Putin became Mayor Sobchak’s advisor on international affairs in May 1990. On June 28th 1991, he became head of the Committee for External Relations of the St. Petersburg Mayor’s Office. Putin’s responsibilities as head of the Committee was the active promotion of international relations and foreign investments. After just one year after becoming the head of the Committee, Putin was investigated by the city legislative council’s commission. Marina Salye and Yury Gladkov concluded that Putin had issued licenses permitting the export of non-ferrous metals to the value of $93 million in exchange for foreign food aid which never arrived, and they also accused him of understating prices. The commission demanded that Putin be fired but without consequence. The led spots were taken off Putin.

Putin became the first deputy head of St. Petersburg administration in March 1994 and in 1995 Putin led the pro-government Our Home Is Russia political party St. Petersburg branch. In 1996, Putin was called to Moscow and was shortly afterwards made the Deputy Chief of the Presidential Property Management Department.

... this split record by Touché Amoré and La Dispute all week. I have it on my iPod, my iPhone and my r4i and for some reason this week I just haven't been able to get enough of it.

It's only just over 8 minutes long, called 'Searching For A Pulse/The Worth Of The World' and comprises two songs from each band. They are: 'I'll Get My Just Deserve', 'I'll Deserve Just That' by Touché Amoré, then: 'How I Feel', 'Why It Scares Me' by La Dispute.
Touché Amoré and La Dispute are two of my favourite bands ever, I love their music on record but when I was lucky enough to see them this summer I was literally blown away by how amazing they were.
I saw them both at Hevy Festival on different stages, and both Jeremy Bolm and Justin Dreyer made cameo appearances during each other's sets and played these tracks, it was phenomenal.

After Mikhail Bulgakov wrote a personal letter to Joseph Stalin pleading to leave the Soviet Union if no work could be given to the writer, he received a phone call from the leader himself. Stalin asked him whether he truly desired to leave the Soviet Union to which Bulgakov replied that a Russian writer cannot reside outside his homeland. Subsequently, Stalin gave him permission to resume working at the Art Theatre in May 1930.

Bulgakov married for the third time in 1932. Yelena Shilovskaya, his new wife, was to prove to be the inspiration for the character of Margarita in his most famous novel, The Master and Margarita. Bulgakov worked on that novel for over a decade whilst writing plays, critical works, and translating novels and librettos. He also produced a great deal of work ridiculing the Soviet system which was kept in his desk drawer for many decades. Despite being allowed to work in the theatre, Bulgakov was desperately unhappy as most of his projects were either censored or completely prohibited by the authorities. If you want to read any of Bulgakov’s marvelous work, use your Bunches discount codes to purchase it cheaply!

Of all the things that i like to play, the national lottery is undoubtedly my favourite! Recently I’ve been wondering why it is that i enjoy playing the lotto so much. I have had some interesting ideas; that i love the winner-takes-all nature of it, that the opportunity to win so big through blind luck is exciting, and also the fact that it is a national event- a sort of UK-wide zero sum game. All of these factors entice me to the national lottery and games that are similar to it. However now, there is a an even bigger, better offering from the lottery; National lottery Euromillions which is like a European-wide lottery. People form all over Europe invest their money, and tries to win as much money as they can. The beauty is that whilst the chance of winning is lower, the amount that you win is much higher! It is basically just a much bigger, much better lottery which is exactly the kind of thing I’m interested in.
Have any of you played Euromillions? How do you think it compares tot he good old National Lottery?

I love How I Met Your Mother, it is literally one of my favourite programs ever. I caught a couple of episodes randomly a long while back and then a couple of years ago I decided to just watch the whole series from the start, and it was definitely worth it!
I bought the first two seasons in DVD boxsets and absolutely flew through them all, they were hilarious and so easy to watch! I love all of them, Barney's character is unbelievable but totally loveable and not as slimy as you might expect him to be.

I also love that I get to watch loads of Jason Segel, I love him in all the Judd Apatow funny films and he's brilliant as a sort of gentle giant character in HIMYM, and he's hilarious always, I love his weird quirky comedy.
I've ripped all the episodes from my box sets and loaded them on my r4ds so I can watch them whenever. The program has got that same watchable quality as Friends, you can watch any episode from any season at any time so easily, they're always enjoyable!
